“Every day I have the privilege to support those who wore the uniform. It’s humbling to play even a small role in ensuring they receive the care, respect, and dignity they’ve earned.”

As a Marine Corps Veteran and combat wounded purple heart recipient, service to our nation was more than a duty. It was a calling.

When my time in uniform ended, I felt a deep need to continue serving in a meaningful way. Public service, especially through the VA, offered that path. I currently serve the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Contracting Officer, and now acting Director of an Acquisition Service. I’m incredibly grateful to contribute to a mission that puts veterans first.

With over 16 years of service between the military and VA, I now lead the contract portfolio for the VA's transformation into digital health and telehealth initiatives. I am responsible for management of the acquisition lifecycle and contract administration of a $5 billion portfolio, which provides products and services to bring VA digital technology to veterans and healthcare professionals, extending access to care beyond the traditional office visit.

Our mission is to redefine healthcare accessibility and delivery for veterans. Through our telehealth portfolio, we are breaking down geographical barriers and bringing innovative care solutions directly to the veteran.

Continuing to serve, now through digital health innovation, allows me to give back in ways that truly matter. The best aspect of this is that every decision I make, I can see those results, knowing I played a part in the acquisition of the product or service received.

What has been the highlight of your public service career so far?

Helping lead a national expansion of telehealth services that will support veterans for years to come. It’s not just about technology. It’s about meeting veterans where they are, especially those in rural or underserved areas who might otherwise go without care. Seeing the impact through reduced no-show rates, improved access to mental health support, and messages of thanks from fellow veterans has been incredibly humbling. I’m grateful every day to continue serving our nation in this way. To know that my work now helps shape care for those who’ve sacrificed so much is an honor I don’t take lightly. The ability to make a lasting difference in their lives is the most meaningful part of this mission.
